Just had one of the 113th buzz over me as they landed at Andrews. Scared the poo out of me!

Well one was just apparently involved in a mid-air collision with a Cessna.

Awesome!
A few years ago I was working for NRL at Chesapeake Beach and every day I’d drive out Rte. 4, right by Andrews run way and more than once there was something or other taking off or landing right over my car.

I was 1,000’ from the end of the runway.

Shit, I used to live near there when I was stationed at Goose Creek.

Wow! Pretty close. Route 4 is about 2000’ or so from the end of the runway and even that felt too close.

Close enough to not see it come in, hear it, shit myself, and then see it touch down.

Hahaha, I don’t blame you. Once when I was out on the Ike I was walking around the aft end of the ship and saw a door ajar. I went to close it, but saw day light on the other side. I got curious and opened it just in time to see the bottom side of a Super Hornet as it was coming in for a landing. I fell backwards into the pway and almost shit myself.

Before I moved, I routinely got buzzed by 125th FANG F-15s. Never got tired of it. Could hear ‘em coming for miles... was so cool. Sometimes they were real low, real fast and at weird times of the day/night/morning.
